Speech & Language Support for 0-3's


Elklan's evidence-based Speech and Language Support for 0-3s is a highly successful externally accredited training course which equips staff to develop these key communication skills in children proved to ensure later success in school. This is the only accredited training in speech, language and communication that is aimed specifically at those working with babies and very young children.


Developed to support the revised EYFS framework this course links research on early language development with best practice to give practitioners up to date theoretical knowledge and practical tools to promote communication. Although designed to support the 2 year review and Development Matters statement in England the strategies underpin all curricula wherever taught.


This practical training course will:


• Build your confidence and skills to support the communication and language development of ALL children aged 0-3 years but especially those at risk of developing speech and language difficulties.

• Give you practical advice and strategies to support parents and families with whom you work.

• Provide settings with a highly skilled workforce to help narrow the gap and improve the life chances of babies and young children.

• Give you an externally verified and accredited level 2 or 3 qualification which is on the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework (QCF).

Speech and Language Support for 3-5's



Elklan's evidence based Speech and Language Support for 3-5s is a highly successful externally accredited training course which equips staff to develop these key communication skills in children proved to ensure later success in school. This is the only accredited training in speech, language and communication that is aimed specifically at those working with 3-5s.


The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in England and other UK curricula recognise communication and language as one of the three prime areas for learning and development.


This practical training course will:


• Build your confidence and skills to support the communication and language development of ALL children aged 3-5s years but especially those with speech and language difficulties.

• Give you practical advice and strategies to support parents and families with whom you work.

• Provide settings with a highly skilled workforce to help narrow the gap and improve the life chances of young children.

• Give you an externally verified and accredited level 2 or 3 qualification which is on the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework (QCF).

• This course is also suitable for children learning English as an additional language and other special educational needs and has helped many staff in pre-school establishments, ECAT, Surestart projects and private, voluntary and independent (PVI) settings maximise their children’s communication potential and access the curriculum more effectively.

A practical training course for staff working in primary schools to enable them to develop the speech and language skills of ALL children but especially those with speech and language difficulties. It gives practical advice and strategies which are also suitable for children with English as an additional language and other special educational needs.
